Project for the management of Cancers in men and women in a community setting

PROJECT DISPLAY

Structure: The ARISTIDE MENSAH Health Center (CSAM) is a private, non-profit local structure. Located in the Dakar suburbs, it contributes to meeting the health needs of the most deprived and low-income populations. It offers general and specialty consultations, Odontostomatology and midwives, nursing care and laboratory analyses. One of the particularities of the center lies in its cancer screening/diagnosis and education activities.

The CSAM is developing a program for the treatment of cancers in men and women. These are specifically prostate, cervical and breast cancers. Its aim is to inform and raise awareness among populations; to promote early detection and facilitate care and monitoring.

The strategy adopted consists of the regular organization of awareness days and screenings in conjunction with community stakeholders.

This approach is all the more interesting as it consists of preventing disease and instilling a proactive attitude in populations. Emphasis is placed on prevention and better knowledge of these Cancers in order to popularize early detection.
