Should the lack of resources and insufficient qualified personnel prevent us from offering quality care to patients? Certainly not. It is therefore urgent to find creative and innovative solutions to compensate for the shortcomings. IFRU/SF, in its everyday actions, seeks to raise the level of practitioners by providing them with cutting-edge training in the fields of urology, andrology, sexual medicine and overall health. Training sessions bringing together specialists from the four corners of the African continent are concrete proof.

IFRU-SF stands out in the organization of training workshops on endoscopy of the lower and upper urinary tract for urologists from Senegal and other African countries.

A partnership with the American NGO IVU Med makes it possible to move a team of American surgeons and nurses to Dakar each year in order to train urologists and pediatric surgeons in pediatric urology and reconstruction surgery.

Regarding prostate cancer surgery, the Institute of Training and Research in Urology and Family Health (IFRU/SF), in collaboration with Doylestown Hospital in Pennsylvania (USA), benefits patients and to surgical practitioners of cutting-edge techniques including radical prostatectomy which is a curative treatment technique for prostate cancer.

Collaboration with experts from London (Jean McDonald's team) and France made it possible to organize workshops on functional urology on two occasions, including incontinence surgery (Anne Marie Lechartier) and assessment. urodynamics (Nazife Gummus de Laborie).

During these workshops, in addition to the surgical aspect, particular emphasis was placed on the training of nurses first to strengthen their knowledge in urodynamics but also and above all to improve their practices in urological ambulatory care. including learning good practices in prostate biopsy.
